Liam LOVES kindergarten. This kid has been been pining away all summer to ride the bus and go to school like Michael. That 1 year, 10 day age difference really kills him sometimes. He is off to a great start, which is pretty much what I expected from my happy-go-lucky guy.
Michael had a rough first day and came home very unhappy. He didn't get into trouble or anything, he just reported not liking it very much. His new teacher is quite different from his kindergarten teacher so I'm not sure how the year will go. Trying to maintain a level-headed view and see how the first month goes. By the end of the first week, he was much more upbeat.
Chloe wins the award for earliest potty-trained child in the family. I don't know how this happened- I think she was just ready. Once I convinced her that she cannot stand up to pee, she made her peace with it and we've had pretty smooth sailing with only a couple of minor accidents. I'll take it! I put her in a pull up for bedtime but she has been waking up dry every morning.
Chloe will start preschool next week and she is so excited! I'm hoping she will be okay with the reality that parents don't stay with her. I think she will transition pretty well, maybe a little upset the first couple of days? We'll see!!
After stressing out last week, I think I am feeling more settled about my job schedule. It's a tough balance sometimes but we are making it work. The school year helps in some ways on the family side but on the client side, it makes it harder (because all but one of my clients are in school all day).
I'm also going to work part-time at the preschool on M/W/F helping out with lunch bunch. Chloe gets to come with me, I get paid AND we get a 25% discount off her preschool cost. I'm excited about this new opportunity!!
So some aspects of life are still presenting challenges but we are working through it as best we can. At the same time, I am equally thankful for all the parts that are going right :)

| Then Chloe remembered that she gets the run of the house all day long! |
