The quick and dirty list is as follows:
1. My Dad has had a slew of medical concerns arise in the past few months. Namely: a diagnosis of Parkinson's, a brain aneurysm (small but STILL!!), hearing aides for both ears and finally- a complete blockage of blood flow in his right leg (which already had a bypass done in it about 12 years ago). The leg is the biggest problem of the moment because he just had an arteriogram yesterday and the conclusion was that nothing could be done in the moment to fix the blockage--he will have to see someone more specialized. Sometimes they can treat the problem with medicine to dissolve the block or place a stent to open up the blockage. But in his case, these were not feasible. Soooo- more doctors visit fun. It's really hard seeing my Dad begin to show real signs of his age (75). He has always been in pretty good health, although he did have a double bypass (heart) at age 52. Anyway, I am praying that all will remain well with him and that the issue with his leg can be resolved.
2. The change in my Dad's health situation has prompted me to take a leave of absence from my job. I'm hoping to go back some time in January. With my Mom being my primary child care help and the fact that they could use some support from me right now, this is really the only choice for the moment.
3. Mike interviewed for a new position at Lowe's. Fingers crossed that this works out!
4. The kids are all thriving at school. I feel like we are so busy, even though they are in no sports or club activities right now. I don't know what I would do if we had after school obligations. I am hoping that the brief break from work will help me get the evening routine back on track with a little more attention to homework, etc.
5. My house is in desperate need of cleaning- I need a reset button for all the things that have been neglected.
6. Chloe is turning 3 in three days....I can't even address that right now.
7. I'm reading blogs often, commenting rarely. With the break from work/note writing for clients, maybe I will rejoin the blogging community?
8. This past weekend, we were a part of my brother-in-law's civil ceremony. It was just beautiful and was a blast with family and friends. It's been a while since I danced that much!! We stayed for the whole reception (Chloe fell asleep during the last hour and was held by me and a couple other relatives). I can't believe I am STILL tired from all that fun. But it was so much fun!! It probably deserves it's own post...we'll see if I can get to that.
I honestly don't even know what else to update on because it's been so long since I regularly blogged. I guess I will have to just take it as it comes and see if I can get back in the habit.
For now....just write!

Isn't it all consuming when your parents are sick? I know all too well! Sending prayers up for your dad right now. Looking forward to reading new posts, though!
I'm sorry to hear about your dad's health issues and I hope C has a great b-day.
