Interview with Michael

Michael's Interview: age 3 years, 10 months
(borrowed from Emily and Giselle)

Michael did a good job with this- some questions required explanation/rephrasing but overall, I thought he handled it pretty well.
I actually did a couple of 'warm-up' questions that I thought would be easier but that was not really the case.

Favorite color: yellow
Favorite animal: black puppy dog
Favorite food: bread (this was a funny answer but Michael loves it when we have warm bread with dinner)

1. What is something your mom always says to you?
"You'll always be my baby" (I really do always say this!)

2. What makes mom happy? "When I give you a kiss"

3. What makes mom sad? "When our beds are ruined" (this is true, I kind of flip out if the boys wreck their room which usually involves having all books/toys available either on or under their beds)

4. How does your mom make you laugh? "Funny stuff- talkin' to daddy and when you pick her up and try to throw her in the basket" (I have no idea what he is talking about...Mike does sometimes pick me up but he does not try to throw me anywhere). Michael could not explain further...

5. What was your mom like as a child? "You broke the motorcycle" (I had a remote control 3-wheel car for my barbies...It turned up one day at my parents' house but no longer worked so Michael assumes that I broke it)

6. How old is your mom? First he held up 5 fingers, then all 10. So I am 10. Mike is also 10.

7. How tall is your mom? First he put his hand up like he was going to try and reach over his own head. Then he went over to a tall cabinet that we have in our kitchen and reached up to indicate my height. He sat back down and said, "That's my measurer". The cabinet is taller than me but I thought it was a good idea to use a tall object as his reference.

8. What is her favorite thing to do? "Hug Daddy when you are crying" (I don't know if that's my favorite thing- the crying that is- but okay)

9. What does your mom do when you aren't around? "Go home and eat"

10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for? What does "famous" mean? "For the baby, for Chloe" (He did not really get the meaning of famous)

11. What is your mom really good at? "Hugging us and kissing us"

12. What is your mom not very good at? "Carrying us" (Michael and Liam often want to be carried up to bed and I rarely oblige them. I think Michael is referring to the fact that I can't carry both of them at the same time like Daddy can!)

13. What does your mom do for a job? "You cook" (I definitely cook more now but I still think this is funny)

14. What is your mom's favorite food? "Stromboli" (It's really ravioli but I do love Stromboli too)

15. What makes you proud of your mom? "Grow up....um, I don't know" (We tried to get this one but he wasn't sure. I do tell him I am proud of him quite often but to be fair, Liam had come into the room and Michael was a bit distracted)

16. If your mom was a cartoon character, who would she be? "Daisy" (From Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...it took some explanation to get an answer at all)

17. What do you and your mom do together? "We lay with each other" (I think he said this only because I had cuddled with him before nap time to try and encourage an actual nap. I was only able to do this because Mike was home-and I think the boys miss that cuddle time a little bit.)

18. How are you and your mom the same? "When we bake stuff" (Since Mike has been home, I can more easily involve the boys in helping me make dinner or a treat)

19. How are you and your mom different? "Different shirts"

20. How do you know your mom loves you? "Cause I'm your big boy"

21. What does your mom like the most about your dad? "When he hugs you"

22. Where is your mom's favorite place to go? "To Walmart with Grammy" (This is funny because I LOATHE Walmart. Grammy is my mom and I do love going pretty much anywhere with her so he got that part right!)

I think Liam is a little bit too young for these questions but I will keep an eye on blogs and see if there are other interview versions that I can try...or I might try to come up with my own questions!
