This calls for bullet points! There is just ALOT going on here and it appears that there will be for quite some time. I'm just laying it all out on the table. It's either that or never blog again!
- By far, the biggest news is that we will be putting our house on the market within the next 2 weeks. It will be a "short sale". It's a long story and we've been trying to make another option work but it just isn't in the cards right now. I can't even think about the actual packing and moving process. I'll stress about that later! I've got to figure out WHERE we are gonna live!
- The first order of business is fix 2 bedroom ceilings that had pretty significant leaks (due to our roof). The roof is patched for now but will get a coat of something called GACO to preserve it for a couple of years. We have a flat roof and this option is less pricey than a new roof but still pretty pricey and we have to do SOMETHING. Not even a short sale will go through with an actively leaky roof. So the inside guy is coming to look and give us a price tomorrow...the roofer I've been in contact with seems a little, um, disorganized. But his pricing is really good so I am just hoping he gets it together.
- The inside portion is covered by our homeowner's insurance--the outside roof is NOT. At least some of it is covered or I don't know WHAT we would be doing!
- The kids are okay so far but they don't really know what is going on yet. I don't want to tell them too much until I have a better idea of where we are going to live. We need to look for a rental. It's going to be hard- our mortgage is cheaper than most rentals around here. We're pretty much out of options though, so this is what is available to us right now.
- We will officially list our home in about 2 weeks. In the meantime, I am job-hunting and Mike is trying to figure out if he can get something else part-time. So it's either that I am going to get a job or Mike is going to have more than one job. We've got to bring in more income no matter what. We are lucky to have amazing family and friends who have been so helpful but this is really on us to figure out.

Good luck with the repairs and selling the house and finding a new place. I'm sorry money's so tight right now, but it's good to hear you have support.
That is a lot of changes, but you will get through it! Best of luck to everything coming your way.
That all sounds very stressful. Hopefully selling will get you to a less stressful time. Best wishes with the job search.
Thanks ladies! I just realized that I left duplicate info. in my post so I just fixed that...if nothing else, the process should make for interesting blogging (maybe).
I am late to the party AND pretty sure i owe you an email- but in the meantime, we did the short sale thing too, so if u wanna talk give me a shout. AND yes, the whole rental vs mtg in PA is quite eye opening, yes?
