3-13-13

I really like the date today...looks kind of cool.

Briefly, both our oven and our dryer are acting up.  I am holding out hope that I will not need to buy new appliances any time soon.  I think I have some sort of warranty on the dryer but I need to check.  So that's the downer news for the moment.

On a MUCH brighter note, we're experiencing what pretty much amounts to a real life miracle.  Someone has offered to help us with our mess of mortgage situation.  I can only think of the term Good Samaritan to describe these people.  They have no obligation to us-- we don't even know them all that well.

And yet, they are going to help us stay in our house for now.  In a nut shell, these people are going to buy our house, make repairs, do some variation on a lease agreement with us and let us pay reasonable rent.

It sounds crazy, right?  Like, how do we know what we are getting into, etc.  It will all be very legit and fair and fine.  There will be an official contract.  Compared to a run-of-the-mill short sale, this is better.  For our purposes, it will function much like a short sale but will leave us with more options.

The couple helping us are the parents of one of my best friends- they are in a position to help.  They want to help us.  We would not take money outright from them (because that just seemed very wrong).  So my friend's dad came up with more a business agreement type of plan.

I can't even describe the sense of unworthiness as well as immense gratitude that I feel.  I really couldn't see any saving grace for us (nor do we deserve any such grace).  But here it is, just like that...

I keep thinking to myself- Miracles really do happen!  I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes according to plan!  Kid updates at another time :)
