Know when to fold 'em?

I keep thinking that perhaps I should formally fold this blog.

I rarely write and yet I don't think I'm ready to be done with it yet.  It's hard to decide.  I feel like I used to write posts that were at least a little bit interesting and maybe even occasionally entertaining.  Now each time I come here with the intention to write, I don't love what I come up with.  I keep waiting for something NEW and EXCITING to talk about!!

Inspiration is harder to come by and I know I've mentioned before that I don't like it when my writing is all complaints- even though I know it's okay and even cathartic to write about tough times.

I'll postpone the larger decision and opt to delve in to updates and random thoughts.

  • The house situation is still in progress...going okay but nothing is settled yet.

  • If you want a sign of how screwed up the credit card industry is, consider this:  Mike and I have only one credit card at this point- Lowe's (which is where Mike works).  I think it has a $900 limit or something like that and we have only used it for appliance purchased.  No big deal.  Even though our home is considered in jeopardy of foreclosure, I can still get approved for a Kohl's charge with a limit of $300.  Really?  I applied because we had the chance to get 20% off our order but didn't think I would actually be approved.  Well, it was!  So we saved money and paid the bill on the spot (nice perk with Kohl's).  It worked out for us but STILL- I think it's crazy and it's no wonder that the credit card industry is so screwed up.

  • Did you ever have a day (or week/month) where you seriously considered the possibility that your spouse either a)had a secret lobotomy or b) was abducted by aliens who performed brain experiments?  Mine has me wondering...hoping it's just a phase.

  • Michael had a great year in 1st grade and Liam had a great Kindergarten year as well.  Chloe did a "Young 3's" preschool program and she loved it.  They are all learning and growing!  Sometimes the time goes by so fast, I can't stand it!!

  • I finally found a babysitting opportunity (starting today).  It will be 3 days a week, 2 kids- a boy age 15 months and a girl age 6 years.  So far, it's going well.  I just need to plan things out and find creative ideas to keep these 5 kids happy and busy all summer.  Of course today is a rainy, miserable sort of day and I am grasping at straws to keep the older kids quiet during nap time.  I'm feeling fortunate to have this come my way.  I can finally bring in some income without planning impossible schedules and paying out for child care myself.

  • Mike is finally exploring other job options and I am hopeful that something good will come his way as well.

I know there are other things to catch up on but that's all I can think of for now.  I'd like to keep going with this blog.
We'll see how it goes-maybe I can breathe some life into it again :)
