This weekend, we took a somewhat last minute trip to my father-in-law's house. We left Saturday morning and came home today. It's about a 4 hour drive (5 with kid stops). It was WELL worth it.
We celebrated Mike's grandfather's 88th birthday & it was a blast. Pics to come tomorrow if I can get to downloading them. It was great to see that side of Mike's family who we don't see as often as we would like to.
The highlight of my weekend, though, had nothing to do with our travels or celebrating. We stayed at my father-in-law's house. We always stay in the same bedroom because it is conveniently located on the first floor of the house & has lots of room for all of us to sleep comfortably. In that room are several wedding pictures including one of Mike & I.
Liam picked it up and looked at it. He looked at me and smiled and said, "Mommy, that's YOU! You're a PIN-CESS (princess)!" Liam is my little sweetheart and he was so sincere, he just made my weekend with that one little sentence :)
