Has anyone ever bruised or injured their coccyx (aka tailbone)?
If yes, what can I do to make it feel better?
On Sunday, I was about to kneel on the floor to change Chloe's diaper.
I had left a drawer open.
Caught the pointy end of the drawer-an exact hit to my tailbone.
I couldn't have aimed it better if I tried.
It is SO sore...I'm not one to whine about pain but this is affecting everything I do. Standing up, sitting down, coughing, sneezing, walking. I feel like I've also pulled some ligaments at least twice since the initial injury.
From what I've read and heard from others, there really is no medical treatment to alleviate this. Even if I somehow broke it.
Any suggestions on how to help it heal or at least alleviate pain?

My dad hurt his tailbone over the summer and the best things he found to sit on was a small innertube for the pool. I'm so sorry - terrible time of the year to be feeling less than perfect! Feel better!
A girl I went to high school broke her tailbone. She had to sit on a circular pillow for quite a while. As Alicia says, small innertube should do the trick.
I also heard from a girl who broke her coccyx that she had to sit on a small "donut" pillow. She also had to have some physical therapy (she fell down the stairs). I asked Rob about it, and he said a bruised coccyx is tough. It usually means just pain management and bearing it. Sorry, I hope it feels better soon!
