How have I allowed all of this time to go by without writing to honor your 3rd birthday? I finally started to write this back on January 14th and I thought THAT was a late post! I've thought this over in my mind dozens of times...let's see if I can capture a little bit about you and finally post now that you are 3 years, 8 months!
Here is what I started with last time...
Here is what I started with last time...
At three years old, you are quite complex. Your personality is so big when you are at home, I sometimes wonder how the house contains you. Yet when we are out- at preschool, the store, with family/friends- you can be quite shy and slow to warm up. Your preschool teachers don't believe me when I tell them how bossy and sassy you are at home.
(That's as far as I got.)
That first paragraph continues to be true, although you are more at ease in public situations. You are definitely coming out of your shell. Along with upsides of self-confidence, you are also more likely to buck authority and test the limits. You push for what you want and sometimes I think you go with the motto "It's better to seek forgiveness than ask permission".
Despite some minor rebellion, you are so much fun and a joy to be around. You are still riding that line between baby girl and little girl. You will insist that you are NOT a baby but I love the fact that you will still rest your head on my shoulder, let me rock you and sing to you and cuddle you. All that stuff can STAY as far as I'm concerned.
You left diapers in the dust last summer and are quite capable with most daily tasks. I sometimes have to remind myself that you are the youngest child in the family because you are often the first one ready to head out the door and are always quick to suggest an activity or rally for what you want to do.
You love being outside, riding your scooter, swimming, running, and you haven't met a playground you don't love. You are very into your baby dolls but can still hang with Matchbox cars, Legos and Lincoln Logs. You have one American Girl doll (Bitty Baby who you lovingly named "Big Baby"). Oh my- you LOVE Big Baby. You love anything involving art supplies, especially if glue and scissors are involved. You love reading and singing and dancing. Your pretend play skills are quite sharp thanks to those big brothers showing you the ropes.
I feel like there is so much more to say about you but since I'm so late on this already, I think I will keep it brief and start collecting ideas for your 4th (!!) Birthday post now. It's best to work ahead, right?
We love you so Chloe-O!! You are spirited, funny, caring and just an all around love bug!! I love watching you learn and grow!
Love you!!
