A little update on our school district woes. This might not make for the most interesting of blog posts but I will include an article so that you can see where this whole mess is going...
After an absurd school board "committees" meeting this past Tuesday, one of our local papers dropped the bombshell that now subpoenas have been issued to several individuals and a grand jury will convene over whatever the heck is going on in our district.
The whole racist text message piece is just one of many things that are going VERY wrong. I feel more strongly than ever that we need a clean slate- all new board members and that the current acting superintendent should be given a leave of absence ASAP because it appears he is involved in some of the wrongdoing.
There are rumors rampant, as you can imagine. Financial mismanagement, favors to family and friends of upper level administration and school board members. In fact, during the committee meeting, the acting assistant superintendent (who is one of the whistleblowers of the texting scandal) said that she was offered a promotion in exchange for her SILENCE about the text discovery. Thank HEAVEN she is a person with enough integrity that she did NOT take that favor and followed her conscience instead.
