Nonsense

I am trying to get myself into the holiday spirit.  I definitely got rid of the downer mood that was creeping up last week but I can't say that I am full swing in holiday mode.  I can't believe the time crunch I feel and I am not even working this year.  I almost feel like I got more done while I was working full time b/c I could use my lunch break or time after work to run errands/shop.  My work day ended at 4:00 most of the time but the kids could be at daycare until 5:30.  While I preferred to pick them up right away (and with onsite daycare, that usually meant 4:07- after a quick bathroom pit stop), I would sometimes use an hour of time to shop, etc. and pick them up by 5.  We would still get home at a reasonable time & my work place was in an area conducive to shopping.

The grass is always greener, right?  Because when I worked, all I thought about was what I would do with TIME if I were at home.  And it just never pans out in quite the way you expect.  But we find a way to make it work, right?  And some days flow so beautifully, you couldn't have planned it better.  And then some days waste away so quickly, that you have no idea WHAT you did all day.

(I think I just used way too many different pronouns in the paragraph above but you know, grammar is not at the top of my list these days so I'll just leave it!)

I think I already mentioned that I finally ordered Christmas cards and was feeling quite relieved.  So I decided to get ahead of things and update/print out address labels so they would be ready to go when the cards arrive.  Hahahahahahaha...if you are on Facebook, then you already know that I can't FIND the address label file on my laptop--and I'm having major deja vu b/c I had this exact same problem last year.  And I don't know how I managed to print labels last year but not save the file...what the hell?!

So if I am not around over the next few days, it is because I am trying to recreate my list...or trying to get the old list off my dinosaur computer...

If you like posts that lack continuity of thought, then stick with me, it seems to be my specialty these days ;)

Additional Note: Mike came home from a night out with friends about 2 minutes before I published this post.  I was busy talking him into carrying our computer monitor up from the basement when he suddenly said the magical term "USB DRIVE".  Which instantly tripped my foggy brain into remembering that LAST year, I DID indeed save an electronic copy of my address labels.  And the REASON why I saved them to a USB drive and not on the laptop itself was just in case our laptop randomly died, then I would STILL have the list on another resource.  I have never been so happy to feel so stupid!!!!!  No I just need those cards to get here and I am in business :)
