All Bullets, All the Time

  • The new blogger interface is going to take some getting used to.  I don't love it.

  • Last week, we were faced with a "fix the current car or trade it in" dilemma.  It's never a good decision point for us because we never know if we are making the right choice.  Looong story short: We traded in Mike's 2002 Explorer- which we bought used AND which was 3 months away from pay off- and are now the proud owners of a 2011 Ford Focus.  Same car payment but we've got a WAYS to go before it's paid off...sigh...

  • The above dilemma was so freakin' stressful- totally draining.  I don't think we got a phenomenal deal on the car but I think we got a relatively fair deal.  It wasn't my best negotiation but it wasn't my worst.

  • I am definitely the negotiator on this team.  Although I give Mike mad props for playing a more significant supporting role than he has in the past.  He's learning :)

  • I seem to be using up my daily supply of patience about 2.5 minutes into the day.  This is not a good way to live.  I am hoping to find a better way to deal with this problem soon because the children are definitely getting a little skittish around me.

  • Closely related to the patience problem is the increasing migraine problem.  I need to get my ass in gear and go to a doctor.  I just got lots of advice on FB about seeing a chiropractor but I don't know if I want that to be my first line of defense.  I feel like I need to see a neurologist first, just to review my history with migraines and how things have changed.  Then I can pursue treatment options with a little more confidence.

  • Chloe is still working on her potty skills.  She loves the potty but doesn't always pay attention to when she has to go.  This puts me in a tough spot.  Do I really push this with her or continue to let her lead the way?  I've always been a "follow the child" type for potty training but I feel like she is maybe waiting for me to give her the green light to try underwear.

  • Liam has only a few more weeks left of preschool.  We were talking about kindergarten today and he told me, "I am SO excited!".  He knows he has to wait until after summertime to start but I'm glad he is so stoked.

  • Michael has come so far this year.  While he still has his moments, he has learned so much and is definitely learning how to control his emotions.  I love listening to him read a story or directions or really anything.

  • The boys have started playing lacrosse--I'll keep you posted on this one.  They are brand new to the sport and I just hope they have fun in the process of learning.

That's my little wrap-up for now...

I'm with you on the new blogger look. Although they've changed it in the past and it only ends up feeling weird for a short time...

Congrats on the new car. We went from a couple of years w/ NO car payment to a HUGE payment for the van. Which is why I'm hoping to drive it for a dozen years or so!

I'm so sorry about the migraines, I hope you find some relief soon.
