Liam (aka Mummer),
Five years old- my little bear! You are so excited to be FIVE...and we are so excited for you. I can hardly believe that in August, you will head off to full day kindergarten. What on earth will Chloe and I do without our Liam?!
You are not only excited to attend school but you are thrilled to be riding the bus. It looks like you will have the same teacher as Michael and we are so happy for that. You are already reading and you definitely picked up on some of what Michael learned last year. I think you will ease in kindergarten without difficulty. Can't wait to start that journey with you!
Let's see, at five you are: adventurous, happy, silly, stubborn, friendly, curious, thoughtful, caring, imaginative and fun. I love the way your mind works and how you put things together.
Sometimes, you are a very deep thinker for a five year old. You connect things when I don't expect you to. You ask about death and an afterlife, about what happens and you worry about your own mortality. Granted, you don't put it in those words...but those are the worries you sometimes have. For someone who is often light-hearted, you sure come up with some heavy questions! I'd pay good money to spend a day inside your brain...just to see all the thoughts you have that don't make it to your lips.
This philosophical side does not interfere with fun...your latest is to let us know when you will launch your super fast "cheetah run". Which means you will run super fast, of course. You are very proud of the cheetah run and we hear about it quite often. You love swimming and riding your bike and being outside. You also love computer games and if I'd let you, you'd spend hours on that.
Luckily, your brother and sister keep you pretty busy. You are definitely the glue that binds those two and you are so generous. I actually have to encourage you to stand up for yourself at times, to let you know you don't always have to be the one to compromise.
You are my heart, my little Liam. Your sweet smile is a gift to me every day.
Happy FIVE Liam!!
Love,
Mommy
