MLK Jr.

There are many reasons why I appreciate the accomplishments and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.

This is a bit shallow and selfish of me--qualities that do NOT speak to his legacy-- but today I appreciate him for the very simple fact that I have today off.
Is that wrong?

Well, anyway, if it weren't for him tomorrow's inauguration would almost surely not include Barack Obama...

Hey J- at least the day off gets people THINKING about him, which is a good start, right? And with all the comparisions going on today with the inauguration, well- it's not a bad thing at all :) I like to learn something new each year- but it doesn't happen. Starting this summer, though, we're going to start dragging Kaden to every civic or cultural festival we can find, lol!

BTW- that Sesame Street comment on my blog? you are hysterical (in a good way!)

I think MLK would be very happy that he gave us a day off! And he would be beyond thrilled about our new president. Can you imagine?
