Things I Am Discovering....

1.  I really do love getting comments on this blog.  While my main goal is to preserve little snapshots of life as the kids are growing up (too fast btw), I really do feel a strong sense of support after hearing from friends.  There is something different about reading what someone has written versus hearing it in a conversation.  It is also great to consider different perspectives...definitely an enriching experience for me.

2. It's been a little quiet on my blog- up until the past week or so.  I know that there have even been a couple of questions about some recent posts- which is good in my book & I plan to use them as blog topics.  I do miss getting feedback so it's nice to have a little more of it coming around.  And this is NOT a solicitation for comments- just letting you know that I enjoy them :)

3. Figuring out exactly who pushes my buttons- in real life and online.  Setting a limit to the amount of time I am spending online is proving to be good overall.  I really miss seeing daily updates, photos, etc. but the break has decreased the number of influences on my thinking.  And right now, that's a very good thing.

4. That I've kind of been a spaz with the kids.  I really do let them get to me and my primary response is to yell.  My biggest complaint is that neither of the boys listens to me when I say things in a nice, calm voice.  So my problem now is that I kind of go from zero to 200 in 3 seconds.  Not a great example to set and not a great way to spend the day.  I'm working on it!

5. That getting my anxiety to a reasonable level isn't all that hard.  It just takes some focus.  I can share some things that work for me in a different post.  Keeping my anxiety at bay is more of the challenge.  It seems to me that small, daily stuff stresses me more than larger issues (issues that probably warrant some anxiety). It's a crazy paradox but it's true.

You know why I love your blog? It's like having a conversation with you. You use it as a tool to bounce ideas around and I love that. I use mine as the kids' memory book. You know, since I've never made them one. ;)

Oh man - I struggle w/ the yelling thing too because they seem to so often ignore the calm requests - so maddening!

I love getting responses as well - I recently did an interview about why I blog and tried to express the sense of community that has come to me through blogging. I love our little blogging circles.
