I got some great news today. News that I have been seriously praying for. It isn't the most important thing in life but for us, right now, keeping our house is up there on the priority list.
If you read here often, you know that we struggle with money issues...alot. A couple months ago, I looked into modifying our existing mortgage. It requires quite a bit of paperwork and even more patience/persistence. And there is no guarantee that the application will be accepted.
Today, I finally got the phone call I have been hoping for--we've been approved for a loan modification. I'm not kidding when I tell you that foreclosure, while not imminent, was starting to appear at the corners of the financial picture we've been working with. I'm not proud to admit that either but it is what it is.
We are on a 3 month trial basis with it. It basically changes some of the terms of our mortgage (like our interest rate) & lowers our payment by about $90/month. In our world, $90 is a significant drop.
This news has come just in time. I was really starting to completely stress out about what to do. I am also still waiting to hear about 2 jobs I am in the process of interviewing for. So hopefully, one of those will come through soon & we will finally get ourselves on a stable path.

That's awesome - so glad that you are turning a corner and hope that you are able to get some work really soon to relieve that burden!
Congrats on the adjustment and good luck with the interviews.
Phew! I can't imagine worrying about losing your home. I'm hoping this really works out for you so you can at least feel secure in that.
And best wishes with the job interviews. Another thing that would be nice to check off the worry list.
