Daycare Questions/Random Thought

Question:
If you currently use or have used daycare- what is the setting and how do you like it?

Random:
Does Obama know that his campaign slogan is also Bob the Builder's favorite phrase?
"YES WE CAN!"
Someone else might have already noticed this but I was just wondering...

CAN WE BUILD IT?! BOB THE BUILDER, YES WE CAN!

I know.

SO. Daycare. We have used both commercial daycare, family part-time (my mom watched baby Calum for 2 days/week for a year), and an in-home provider.

We've been lucky because we have liked them all.

The commercial daycare was great because it was 100% reliable, they listened to special concerns, and they could be flexible when you needed them to be (early drop-off or strange pick-up time).

Family was okay. Obviously, I trusted my mom 100%, so that was the biggest thing. But she was not entirely reliable. Things would "come up" and she'd have to cancel, leaving me seriously up $hit creek. That part sucked and was the major reason we went full-time with childcare.

Right now both boys are at an in-home daycare provider. She is an older woman (50's) who takes 6 kids under 3. Which seems like A LOT, right? I know. I was nervous about it at first, but she has her act together. She keeps them all on a very strict schedule, which my boys do very well with. The only issue is that she's not as flexible. She doesn't like it when we drop-off/ pick-up at different times. She's also SO MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE than a commercial daycare. We couldn't afford to have two young kids in commercial daycare full-time, so in-home was the only way we could go. It took A LOT of looking to find her but it turned out really well for us.

GOOD LUCK!!
