Got Diapers?

Quick Survey:

1. Cloth or Disposable?
2. If cloth, what style/kind?
3. If disposable, what kind?
4. If disposable, have you liked any generic brands?

My answers:
1. Disposable (At this point, I have my own landfill)
2. Did not try cloth (Wish I had tried!)
3. Pampers or Huggies are my faves. Luvs-I don't love. Have not found a generic that is reliable (meaning, that doesn't leak too often for my tastes)
4. Playskool dipes are not good. I also tried a couple of grocery store generics- not good experiences.

Post-Post Additions:
*I like Pampers Baby Dry over Cruisers (you get a few more and they are more reliable in our experience). We also LOVE Huggies Overnight dipes- to contain the pee.
*I like Huggies Snug&Dry but they used to be cheaper than Pampers- now I find that they are the same price.
*I have a hard time with generics because of the chunky-thigh factor (especially Liam). Both boys wear size 5 at this point. I dread when they move up another size and hope to get Michael potty-trained in the not-to-distant future.

1. Disposable
2. I wish I had tried cloth, but I just felt overwhelmed with the first child (as if!) and now I barely remember to change Mikey's diaper a few times a day, so I doubt a cloth diaper would hold it.
3. Luvs. Always. With all 3 kids. But they are 10 times better now, because they have the stretch tabs.
4. I always liked Walmart's brand when Andrew was little (with Suzy's Zoo on it). But I hate Walmart with a passion, so it wasn't practical to commit to those diapers, since buying diapers would always fill me with rage. That's not necessary...I'd rather pay a few more cents a diaper.

1. Both. Disposables for daycare/ babysitter/ overnight. Cloth for home daytime.

2. I used Bum Genius by Cotton Babies. They have an online store. SUPER CUTE. There's a little bulky, but no more so than any other cloth diaper.

3. We almost exclusively use Target brand for all disposables. Except for overnights, when we use the uber-expensive Huggies Overnights. They are the ONLY diaper that can contain the wetness most of the time for my boys overnight.

4. Target brand.

1. Cloth since he was about 5 months old (we still use disposables on trips and I keep a few in the diaper bag for emergencies, but other than that, all cloth).

2. We started with Happy Heinies one size, and still use them, but I don't like how they act in the washer (the Velcro comes undone and I end up with a big ball o' diaper that I have to detangle). I didn't have all the diapers I needed so I switched to buying Bum Genius 3.0 (also one size). I like those SO much better. No velcro issues, and they seem less bulky than the HH too. Still, because of their cost, we still use both kinds. They're both very reliable diapers leak-wise, or at least, that's been our experience thus far.

3. Huggies, mostly. We tried Pampers and Target brand too but they leaked more than the Huggies.

4. Target brand (see above). Note that we had lots of leak issues at the time regardless of brand! Lovely explosive poo phase and all.

1. Disposable
2. Also never tried cloth, if I knew then what I know now, then I might've, but now that I'm two kids in, I feel like it wouldn't be worth the investment/I'm stuck in my ways.
3. Sales and coupons dictate what I buy, so I have used every kind there is. My favorite is Huggies Snug & Dry, and we use those the most. For newborns, though, I love Pampers Swaddlers. I have yet to find any diaper that contains my son's poop-splosions.
4. I went through a phase where I only used generics with Katy for a long while, and it worked fine for her except for overnight, when she would leak. But she was never a big pooper. Now with David, generic are definitely not an option.

Right now, disposables. Like Pampers and Huggies, plus "Earth's Best" dispsables and the chlorine free ones from BJS. Will be moving to some cloth later this month- probably Fuzzibuns, as a few local moms sell 'em as a sideline.
